Open Enrollment, which runs from November 1-January 15, is the annual period where you can enroll in qualified health plans through the federal marketplace or private insurers.

GROUP INSURANCE

You can apply anytime for group health insurance. However, open enrollment is a great time to apply or make changes to your policy. It is popular to start a group plan in January because it allows for the deductible year to match the policy year.

INDIVIDUAL INSURANCE

During open enrollment, you can apply for or switch your individual insurance plan. Individual health insurance covers you, and/or your family. Because your plan is not connected to your employment, you can switch or quit your job without it affecting your insurance.
